Do you want to become a member, a volunteer, a foster
home, or simply help us find good adoptive homes? Here is how you can help us.
To find out more about our organization, please visit
our Who we are section.
There
are several different ways to help us:
- By becoming a foster home for a
cat waiting for a permanent home. We can
provide you with all the necessary supplies to start taking care of the cat, but we will ask you to take care fo his daily needs. If you cannot continue being a foster
home, we will respect your decision, but will only ask that you give us 5 days notice,
to give us the time to find another foster home.
- By making a donation, of
either cash or goods (for example, when we organize
a bazaar). We issue an income tax receipt for every
cash donation, since we are recognized as a charitable
non-profit organization by the government. Every
dollar raised is used to pay for food and basic
veterinary care (vaccination, sterilization, etc.)
for cats waiting for a permanent home.
- By giving us a few hours
each month. For example, we need volunteers
to bring cats to the vet or to help us distribute
flyers to publicize adoption days.
- By
talking to your friends and co-workers about Project Sphinx, and by publicizing adoption
days.
- By
helping us find good adoptive families or foster
homes.
- By
referring your friends and co-workers to us (or to another animal rescue organization) when
someone you know is thinking about adopting an animal,
instead of going to a pet shop, where most animals
come from puppy or kitty mills, where they live
in atrocious conditions (check out the Links section to find out about animal rescue organizations
located throughout Quebec).
Project
Sphinx urgently needs donations, we
cannot continue our work without
the help of people who believe in our cause: the protection
and welfare of animals.
You
are more than welcome to come and meet us
during one of our adoption days to find out what we
are all about.
Thank
you very much on behalf of all our cats!
Become a foster home!
- You
cannot, at the moment, adopt a pet for its entire
lifetime?
- You're not sure how your pet would get along with
a new cat?
- You've never had the chance to have a cat but would
really like to have one now?
- You love cats and have some room to welcome them
while they wait for an adoptive home?
We
are constantly looking for foster homes for our cats.
How does it work?
First, we ask you how long you are willing to keep
the animal. We will respect your wishes. We will take
the animal back if there is any kind of problem. We
will give you as much information as possible about
the cat's character, history, etc. We can provide
you with all the necessary supplies (litter box, food,
toys) and we will bring the animal to your home.
This
is a very valuable service you can provide and we
thank you!
Becoming
a foster home can also give you the opportunity to
see if your pet gets along well with a new companion,
or to find out if a cat would fulfill your love of
animals, or simply to contribute to a cause that is
close to your heart!
We
regularly need homes to temporarily (2-4 weeks) take
in cats who need some peace and tranquility (sometimes
a nursing mother and or kittens, but other cats also).
If you think you can be a foster home, please
contact us!
